One of the unique aspects of Ocean Hills Country Club beyond all of the amenities is a very active selection of social clubs. There is literally something for everyone.
Joining a club essentially gets you onto the email list and into communications about upcoming meetups, tournaments and special events. You pay a nominal fee to join (varies from club to club, but somewhere around $10 for the year) and you get to enjoy member perks like discounted tickets at events and priority reservations. Most clubs offer classes or lessons, too, so you can try something you’ve never tried before.
If you want an instant circle of friends, jump in and join ALL of the clubs that look interesting to you. Or, you can take a slower approach and sign up for one or two.
We were warned to pace ourselves because there is so much going on that you’ll end up double-booked and exhausted from all of the countless activities. Most club events are open to guests, you just pay a few bucks more for tickets. So, we decided to take it slow and attend a variety of events before we jump into too many.
We did recently join the Racquet Club. We have zero experience with racquet sports, but want to give pickball a try. As members, we get to attend a special orientation class and can sign up for lessons. There are opportunities for novice, intermediate and advanced players and pickball is QUITE the sport around here! Great way to meet a lot of people fast!
Other popular clubs are the Golf Club which hosts countless tournaments and events. The Garden Club is a favorite for many. So is the Swim & Wellness Club. Maybe you enjoy Wine Tasting? RV’ing? Sailing? Singing? Bocce? Mah Jongg? Music? Or maybe you want to start a club of your own?
Fast or slow, you can’t go wrong. Joining social clubs is the way to connect with people who share common interests and make some new friends. It’s also a great way to try new things because people are ready to show you around and help you learn.
Everyone is so welcoming and the events are well attended and well organized. You will be amazed!
