A Perfect Family Day at Carlsbad Lagoon for Karen’s Birthday
Celebrating Karen’s birthday at Carlsbad Lagoon was a perfect way to spend a sunny day with our family. Located less than eight miles from Ocean Hills Country Club, this hidden gem offers a variety of water activities that make for a fun-filled day. With perfect weather on our side, we set out for a two-hour paddle-boarding adventure that turned out to be the highlight of our day.
Paddle Boarding
Carlsbad Lagoon is the closest location to Ocean Hills Country Club to rent paddle boards and is known for its wide range of water rentals, from paddle boards and kayaks to swan pedal boats and wave runners.
For Karen’s birthday, we rented paddle boards – the perfect choice for combining relaxation and a bit of exercise on the water. At $50 per paddle board for two hours, it’s a reasonably priced activity, especially when you consider how much fun it provides. You can also bring your own paddleboard, but they will charge you to launch at their facility. There is public access nearby, but the City does require a permit that you would need to purchase in advance. The day pass/permit is included in the rental price, if you go that route.
